LIZ, THIS IS FOR YOU.
Dificulty: easy, a bit under 4 miles paddling.
Duration: paddle time 2 hours, but we will try and catch a concert @ Waterplace so add possible hang time. I read the concert is at 7:30 but I think there is an early band. Either way it should be a nice paddle.

We will put in at Bold Point Park directly across the harbor from India Point Park, which will require us to cross this section of the harbor. Bold Point Park is easily accessible and offers adequate parking.
Coming from Rte. 95 onto Rte.195 East, exit 4 is temporarily closed so use exit 5 (warren Ave). At the bottom of the exit turn right onto Warren Ave. , then a quick left onto 1st street. Take the right at the stop sign onto Mauran Ave. a quick left onto Waterfront drive. in front of Tockwaton home is the enterance to Bold Point Park.(the map shows Pier Rd. It has been renamed Waterfront Dr. ) We'll launch at the boat ramp and cross over to the left where we will go under the I-Way and through the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier. From here we will head up into the city to Waterplace Park. This a very scenic trip with a great vantage point from which to view our fair city. It is less than two miles to Waterplace Park from the start and once inside the hurricane barrier it's very calm water. Plan on two -3 hours for this trip. There should be a concert going on @ Waterpalce, so if we hang out for a bit the trip could go to the three hour side. We will be back to the cars before dark at any rate. You will need to wear a proper PFD. We will be watching for boat traffic as we cross the harbor. There will be no kayak rentals available for this meetup.
