The Carolina Management Area is a 2200 acre wildlife management area in Richmond. This hike will consist of a combined Carolina Northern and Southern portions of the wildlife management area.

We will begin at the meetup parking location and hike the Carolina Southern loop first. During this loop will be hiking among trees, brooks and open fields. The trail cuts through the interior of the management area, past numerous fields planted for wildlife and returns along a section of the RI North-South Trail.

Next we will hike the Northern loop which consists mostly of old managed roads some of which are again on the RI North-South Trail.

Bug spray, a good pair of hiking boots and snacks are recommended.

With all the hot weather, at least 2 liters of drinking water will be required per attendee. Even if you don’t think you will need it please bring it since some one else might need it.

I really want to go on this hike because it is beautiful in the woods there. Unfortunately I am already scheduled to work. But I hope to see this offered again in the fall.
