This is not your typical hiking event. This is a charter on a gorgeous 50' Hatteras Sport Fishing Yacht out of Newport, RI. We'll shove off at 1:00 pm, spend several hours on the bay, then return to Newport and enjoy the rest of the day there and/or at local restaurants/night spots.
The yacht is call Reel Trouble and is captain'd by a good friend of mine. He's a licensed captain and has been running charters out of Newport for many years. The website is:
He is docked at the Goat Island Marina:
A few years ago, I was his first mate:
A half day charter is typically a $600 event, but since we're friends, this is only a $20 per person for 10 people (max). Bring $20 with you the day of the charter. This covers diesel and the first mate costs (I'm not the first mate for this. I want to have fun!). We'll want to tip out the first mate too.
Only sign up if you can *definitely* go. Space is limited so no plus 1's for this one.
I'm going to request that the bow jacuzzi is installed...
