The Ten Mile River Greenway was built in 2004 to connect Slater Park in Pawtucket to the Kimberly Ann Rock Athletic Fields in East Providence at a distance of 2.5 miles. It is one of the few bike paths in Rhode Island that was not built along a former rail corridor. This means the path follows the natural contour of the land and provides a very scenic ride or walk along rolling terrain on the banks of the James Turner Reservoir.

We will meet @ Kimberly Rock field parking lot. The meet up is located behind the Wolf school @ 215 Ferris Ave. East Providence.  Go all the way back to the rear of the lot where the path begins. This is a very scenic area, woods and waterviews abound.

This will be an out and back hike all on the Greenway. Once we arrive @ Slater park we will continue across  the road onto the new path extension, again out and back on a scenic winding path.As always  bring plenty of water and snacks. Always a good idea to  bring a headlamp or flashlight just in case. Bug spray is a great idea. Last time I was here the bugs were out in force. We will stop for a break when we get into the park. AGAIN WE WILL WALK AT A QUICK PACE.

(new to meetup.com) question: on another meetup group, when I rsvp 'yes' or 'yes, put me on the waitlist', i'm offered the option of adding 1 or 2 guests. Didn't see that option when signing up for this waitlist. Am I missing something? Or is this a group-by-group or event-by-event option? (I'd like to bring 1 guest.)

When an Organizer schedules an event, they set the number of Guests allowed for that event. For this group the number of Guests is usually either 0 or 1. If you don't see an option to add a Guest. it is a Members only event.
