Thank you John and Leanne for hosting such a good hike. The company was terrific too. Glad I brought along the good weather.
Tailgating was a blast. Too bad we didn't have enough to eat.
Seriously though, thank you to the overly-generous donors with their amazing bounty of wonderful food. We had 3 grills going at once, and the food was piled 2 items deep across the tables!!!

Does anyone know what the rules are for campfires? I'm sure there's some standing dead wood around. I have a saw and I know how to use it.

No Kenny, you're all heart wood. Notice I didn't. Say sap wood. Cause I'm being nice.

We've turned into an eating club with a hiking disorder.

I'm trying out a recipe in my head for pumpkin molasses almond slices (maybe biscotti) . The house smells good, hopefully they will be ok too.

    October 4, 2013

    • Bob T.

Wow, sounds wonderful. I can smell it from here.

Please don't include me in the food preparations. I will only be hiking not eating, I have another commitment tomorrow evening..

    October 4, 2013

    • Bob T.

No problem, Gary. It's a hiking event first and the food part is just a fun afterthought There is no obligation whatsoever for anyone to join in the optional after hike picnic. I'm sure others will bug out right after the hike too.

If your hungry you can have some of my stuff. I am Italian, and we always make enough. Dont worry.

A tailgate after party! Yehaaa! I'll bring some burgers, buns, and some kind of asian slaw thing. Oh yea and some Asian pears, pawpaws, and maybe kiwis from my orchard. And beverages.

    October 4, 2013

  • Jerilyn S S.

I'm bringing a chair to relax on. Too bad we cant have a campfire on the beach. I love the smell of wood roasting on a fire. Remember those days when we could do that?

    October 4, 2013

  • Bob T.

OK, so I'm jumping on Janet's après hike tailgate idea. (Can't do $6 drafts and $15 burgers this week.) I'm bringing a grill, dogs, buns, fixins, and some beer. Will share.

Like Janet, I will bring some stuff, what I do not know.

    We 're having a party...everybody singing...woo hoo!!!!

    October 3, 2013

    • John H.

Having me lead the chorus is something that you should not wish on your worst enemy. I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Someone would need to bring the earplugs.

      October 3, 2013

    • Kenny P.

Well, if you are going to be singing, then maybe we won't need blaze orange after all. No animal or hunter will subject themselves to such torture.
