Event Rating:   Level 2 (Moderate)   Recommended for members who have completed one or more Level 1 hikes.

Distance:   4 MILES

Time Duration:   2½-3 HOURS

Blaze Orange:   Not required, but recommended

A cold Saturday morning walk through history... and a little mystery too. This time around the hike is going to be just the Coventry Tract. We'll tack on the additional 4 mile Foster Tract another time. The tract we are hiking in is an Audubon Society refuge so there is no hunting allowed. Nice.

Layers, water, and snacks. See you there. We start hiking at 9:00 sharp.

Turned out to be a beautiful crisp fall morning for a hike when the sun came out!

Thanks, all, for a terrific morning on the trail with you. Very nice seeing friends as well as meeting some members for the first time. Interestingly, we had hiking with us today both, the club's founder and it's newest member! Very cool. Hope to see you on the trail again soon.

Bob, I was looking forward to this hike because it has been many years since I have been to Parker Woodlands but unfortunately I have a home project that needs my immediate attention. I will catch up with you on another hike. I enjoyed talking with you on the last one. I would still like to do Big River.

Understood. but disappointed. Hope to see you soon. Yes, Big River. It would be a great area for the club to play in. I'll get going on that soon. Probably wait til after hunting season.

Hi - I was just wondering what you all do for bad weather (rain/snow). It's not supposed to be that great tomorrow AM.
    Thanks!

We're going rain, snow, or shine, Caryn. The forecasts I have are calling for any precip to be over and the sun breaking thru by our 9:00 start time. Any snow cover on the ground will just add to the beauty of our woodland hike. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear; and having a rain shell in your pack is probably a good idea too.. just in case the forecast is wrong. Nah, that never happens :/
