Update 12/27: The address has been emailed out to everyone on the list. Please let me know if you didn't receive it. ~Amy
It's been too long since we had a Beer Tasting Party. Please read all of the information below before RSVPing, especially if you've never been to one of these before.
Since we are (or will be) smack in the middle of winter, this tasting will be focused on the Dark Side: stouts and porters. Please bring a [craft] stout or porter as your contribution to the bottle share. Details below.
This is one of our most popular events, and is a great chance to expand your beer-loving palate while getting to know your fellow beer lovers in a smaller setting. Spots are limited, so please only RSVP if you are committed to attending.
Because this is a limited space event, the guest option has been turned off. If you have a friend that wants to attend but is not a member, please ask them to join and RSVP separately.
If the event is full, don't hesitate to join the waitlist -- spots always open up.
Where: Amy's place, located in Glen Allen. The actual address will be provided the day before the event.
When: 7:00 p.m. Please be on time: we don't start the tastings until everyone is there.
What: This is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer) / bottle share party. Each attendee is required to bring a craft beer (stout or porter, for this one) for sharing and sampling (please, no beers from Bud/Miller/Coors). Home brewers are encouraged to bring their specialties. We will be doing "blind tastings" so keep your beer a secret, and prepare to be surprised! There will be a prize for the crowd favorite.
Not sure what to bring? Ask your local beer seller for suggestions. Total Wine, Once Upon a Vine, and Whole Foods all have great selections, as well as many other specialty stores around Richmond.
Numbers: We’re limiting this event to 18 spots to keep it manageable. Please bring enough for everyone to taste at least a 2 oz sample of your beer (4-12 oz bottles or a couple of 24 oz, if all 18 spots are filled). Tasting cups will be provided.
Soak up that beer: Donations of beer-friendly foods are encouraged. We'll provide water for between tastings.
Please only RSVP if you are committed to attending. No-shows will mess with the delicate balance of the Beer Universe for this event, so if you change your mind, please be courteous and change your RSVP
