Beer Tasting Party: XXII and a Half

  • February 15, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Kerry's Place

Since BTP XXII filled up so fast, and currently has more people on the waitlist than attending, we're going to do something a little different.  We're scheduling our next tasting party just two weeks later, and we're going to change the format a bit to open it up to more people.

We're increasing the RSVP spots to 25 for this one, and will make it more of a traditional "bottle share" party.    That means everyone should bring beer to share, but we won't do the "formal" blind tastings we usually do as a group --bottles will be opened and set out for everyone to taste at their leisure.

Large format bottles or growlers are best for this kind of tasting -- so bring your beer contribution in that size if possible.  If you can't find anything you want in that size, a 4 or 6 pack works.

Other usual guidelines apply:

• As always, craft beers or home brews only.  No Bud, Miller or Coors products, please.

• Please also bring food to share-- and plan to stay awhile to drink, eat, and be sober when you're ready to go home.

• Guest option is turned OFF because of limited space.  If you have a friend that wants to attend, they'll need to join/RSVP separately.

A multi-tool was left at my house. The owner can contact me to arrange its return. Thanks.

Let me know if you want me to leave it out for you so you can pick it up when you're in the area. I can find a weatherproof spot.

What a fun night! Lots of great beers to taste, great people to share them with, and an impromptu Cards Against Humanity game that included a Speed Chess intermission. Now that's a party.

All, hate to bow out also, but fighting a cold/flu - I held out thinking I'd be well enough by now, but have to finally admit defeat, plus I don't want to spread this around. I'll have to settle for a shot of whiskey for medicinal purposes. :) Have fun!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
