Tabletop games at Nathan's House in Glen Allen

  • This location is shown only to members

  • Come on out to our new friendly tabletop gaming sessions. Beginners, first-timers experts, and everyone in between is welcome.

Bring your Eurogames, gateway games, light weight games, and your whatever games.

We have the amenities for at least three tables of gaming, more if extra chairs and card tables are brought in.

There is plenty of parking in front of the house and around the neighborhood. I always hate not knowing where I am going to park so I cobbled together a parking map. Click here for parking.

You can see the house game collection here: Nathan's Games

My intent is to provide snacks and beverages, but I encourage you to bring some goodies as well. The earlier I can get RSVPs the more creative I can be food wise.

Feel free to send any questions or comments via email or leave them below.

    Disclaimers:

    1. If you start a miniatures game I reserve the right to throw you out the house when the sun comes up

I sent an email out just in case, but I am officially finally cancelling this thing. Sorry for the string along, but it was looking good until the second wave of this storm.

Roads (295, Mountain road, and Brook Road) are pretty clean here, but all the forecasts show another possible snowfall starting around mid afternoon and lasting til 8pm or so. I'm going to plan to have the house open for gaming for anyone who is close by or just wants to brave it. As a result if you know you are not coming please change your RSVP so I can see if I need to bother prepping. If you don't feel comfortable driving PLEASE stay home.

If the roads are passable between here Midlothian, I will come.

Not sure I'm going to be able to make it, but if I have to bail I'll change my RSVP.

As much as I would hate to cancel it is looking to be the only sane thing to do(I mean the governor did declare a state of emergency). My office has already informed us to work from home Thursday. My biggest concern is losing power. Vdot has gotten much better about clearing Richmond area roads(after they completely botched it several years ago near the holidays). All that said I will make the final call around midday Thursday just in case the weather people whiffed again.

How about we all get over to Nathan's tonight, get snowed in, and use tomorrow as a game day? :) I'm on my way.

I'm pretty sure I will be either working from home on Thursday or out of power and finding other ways to entertain myself while being snowed in at my house. Hope you all have fun ;-)

And note that I'm a bit further west than you all, in the 6-12" band at the moment, so even if they are slightly off in their predictions, I predict I will still be at home on Thursday, even if you all continue on with your lives ;-)

Looking like a potential full house again. Glad to see some returnees (means I didn't screw up too bad last time) and new faces. I now have enough chairs for the 15 person limit(unless I break something again). We have changed the furniture layout so I don't have to dismantle and reassemble the living room every two weeks. With this new layout people can use the couch while gaming and I can still run the same four tables from before.

For my snackage part I will offer a cooler of drinks and some chips. I plan to restock those Tuesday or Wednesday if there are special requests(I try to have at least one diet, cola, clear/citrus, and water option available).

My game list has been updated, so if you see anything you are interested in learning let me know so I can refresh on the rules.

This comment section is a great place to hash out games to be played to maximize playtime.

Of course, after I type that big ole mess of text I see snow is possibly hitting our area Wednesday / Thursday. As most of you know Richmond snow forecasts are not the most accurate (call for a "light dusting" we get half a foot, call for "get a week's worth of groceries and buy stock in salt" we get nothing). Just have to see what Thursday looks like, if it is awful out there I'll cancel to save us from ourselves ("screw this snow I gots to play games!")

I'm in for now, but if the weather really is crappy, I'll probably stay home.

I have been really trying to get in a game of Nothing Personal but just haven't had a chance yet. So if anyone is interested in that one let me know. Really I'm down for anything. Most of my games are packed in my car already from this past weekends game day so I'll just leave them in there and bring them.

Count me in for Nothing Personal! I'll bring the plastic sheeting so we don't get blood on Nathan's floor.

Anybody interested in playing "Space Cadets"?

    February 10, 2014

    • Nathan G.

I had not gotten around to watching the space ship shed video yet. Both of those digital versions are exhausting as is a Starcraft 2 mod that does something similar. Space Cadets seems much more entertaining and social(in a good way as opposed to "why are you so bad at clicking button x when I tell you xyz" bad way). For anyone who may be on the fence, you can watch some Brits play Space cadets in an apartment via the link below. http://www.shutupands...

From experience I would recommend playing with 4 people only. And have a really good helmsmen.

I'm excited to join you all. Please let me know if you'd like me to bring an extra table and chairs.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
