Tabletop games at Nathan's House in Glen Allen

  • May 8, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come on out to our friendly tabletop gaming sessions. Beginners, first-timers experts, and everyone in between is welcome.

Bring your Eurogames, gateway games, light weight games, and your whatever games.

We have the amenities for four tables of gaming.

There is plenty of parking in front of the house and around the neighborhood. I always hate not knowing where I am going to park so I cobbled together a parking map. Click here for parking.

You can see the house game collection here: Nathan's Games

My intent is to provide snacks and beverages, but I encourage you to bring some goodies as well. The earlier I can get RSVPs the more creative I can be food wise.

Lastly if you are going to be late (15 minutes or more) or suddenly not able attend please PLEASE say so in the comments or change your RSVP. I always try to check this area 15 minutes before just in case of last minute changes. Not doing so affects the way we break into groups and/or the games we play.

Feel free to send any questions or comments via email or leave them below.

Disclaimers:

If you start a miniatures game I reserve the right to throw you out the house when the sun comes up

Had a blast. That quantum game looked very cool. Gotta try it sometime.

Had a great time! Thanks for having us Nathan, and I look forward to seeing everyone again!

Sorry for being so late, but that was fun brother. I would offer to bring a game next time, but you have pretty much everything.

Thanks for coming out guys. Hope everyone had a good time can game with us again. Some different games hit the table this week.
Augustus, Tzolk'in, Quantum, and good old Lords of Waterdeep.

Thanks for the host Nathan! Your game library is most impressive. As always, twas great to meet new people and learn some fun games. See you next time!

If we have six people around 7pm, I'll run a quick game of Augustus as a warm up(runs about 30 minutes regardless of player count). Given the smaller group this week I am not prepping a cooler you'll just have to grab drinks out of my fridge like barbarians.

I know we've got some new faces joining us this go around. To you's guys: Get excited! You'll be gaming with a bunch of friendly nerds who make bad puns, and you couldn't ask for a better, more welcoming host in Nathan Grant. You're practically part of the crew already. Looking forward to seeing everyone. And maybe I'll even win a game this time! Whoo!

If 5 is the magic number, my vote is kemet. But player # aside, I'm down for anything!

No pressure man. Whatever's easiest. I'm a bit ashamed to admit I actually have a copy of Kemet, yet have never gotten it to the table. Not even a solo run. There. I said it.

I don't get off until 7ish. I'll probably be about an hour late.

I'm on call so I might be late or have to leave, so ill just hang out or run quick games like quantum, coup, timeline.

Running lean this week and still a few days for more signups, but early planning is what I do.

Five player games(that play well with five) are a bit more rare. I've listed my five and six player games below(that I know I can teach), suggestions or your own games are always welcome.

5: Archipelago, Dragon Rampage, Forbidden Desert, Smallworld, Rialto, Quebec, Last Will, Kemet

6: 7 Wonders, Augustus, Elder Sign, King of Tokyo, Libertalia, Lords of Waterdeep, Letters from Whitechapel, Last Night on Earth, Jamaica, Coup, Resistance, Skull.

The only one I could add to the list that I could bring would be Shadows Over Camelot, works well with either 5 or 6. But I am more then willing to learn any game you can teach!

      May 6, 2014

  • John S.

Nathan, you have almost every game I do, but if there is something you want me to bring let me know!

John, thanks for the list. On occasion we run two tables of the same game, makes for an interesting discussion afterwards. If that gets requested it always good to know who has copies. However, I always say if you have a cool customized version of a game it will always trump what I have. You know, like you are crazy and create Fimo figures of all the King of Tokyo monsters or something.

Would it be too much of a problem if I were to show up an hour or so late?

    May 4, 2014

    • Nathan G.

Not a problem at all. People's first game of the night usually takes about an hour.l
