Tabletop games at Nathan's House in Glen Allen

Come on out to our friendly tabletop gaming sessions. Beginners, first-timers experts, and everyone in between is welcome.

Bring your Eurogames, gateway games, light weight games, and your whatever games. We are always teaching games here. There's no need to worry if you are unfamiliar with any of the games mentioned in the comments or elsewhere.

We have the amenities for four tables of gaming.

There is plenty of parking in front of the house and around the neighborhood. I always hate not knowing where I am going to park so I cobbled together a parking map. Click here for parking.

You can see the house game collection here: Nathan's Games

My intent is to provide snacks and beverages, but I encourage you to bring some goodies as well. The earlier I can get RSVPs the more creative I can be food wise.

Lastly if you are going to be late (15 minutes or more) or suddenly not able attend please PLEASE say so in the comments or change your RSVP. I always try to check this area 15 minutes before just in case of last minute changes. Not doing so affects the way we break into groups and/or the games we play.

In the event of a wait list people with a history of being "no shows" will be moved to it.

Feel free to send any questions or comments via email or leave them below.

Disclaimers:

This house has a dog. He loves you already. However, DO NOT try to take food or components from him. He must be bribed or startled. We keep a jar of Jelly Beans for this very situation as it can do both.

If you start a miniatures game I reserve the right to throw you out the house when the sun comes up.

This house may contain at any time one or more Magic players.

Evil... Good.... Traitor... Hero... these are just labels Sarah. When I look into my heart and reflect upon my solo victory last night... I guess I only see happy people enjoying an evening together watching me win.

Not sure if anyone has Camel Up but I've been dying to know what it's like, being the Spiel Des Jahres and all.

Game Boy Geek just posted a review of it, he wasn't in love. That said, even with the insane randomness, it looks like I would have fun with it

Yeah I've heard some mixed reviews about it. Very much a luck driven game but intense, so it sounds fun to me. :)

Hi! I'm new to the RVA and been looking for fellow boardgamers! I will be bringing my duffle bags of boardgames too. They are mainly Gateway games and Light games as the heavier games take many hours to play. Just in-case, I do have a 6 ft folding table with me that I can provide.

    LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!

Speaking of Seasons, it's super hard to get to the table, but I'll be looking for an opportunity this week. One of my favorites and it's been ages since I've played.

    • Mariah

Sparky will outwit the zombies for sure this time!!

House rule 1: John always gets Sparky.

Pre-gaming spiel time. It's looking to be a good turnout already. If we hit capacity anyone with an extra folding chair may want to bring it. The old chairs I drag up from the basement are starting to look threadbare.

We already have a game request! I am more than happy to run Dead of Winter again. Conversely if anyone from the last event wants to take the teaching reigns feel free. I always like to see requests as they help get things going/organized. So if there are any others, post em.

For myself, I do not have any specific "must get to tab le" requests. But, if something strikes my fancy I'll post it here.

As always any games you want to bring, teach, or play are more than welcome.

Would anyone be up for a game of Runebound? Or perhaps Elsalund?

      August 26

    • Nathan G.

Thanks John. I love me some Dead of Winter. I'm just trying to free up a spot, but it does also give me the ability to run a second table of anything.

Antny, I don't know how our teachers to tables ratio is going to work out. But if I'm available, I'd love to try Runebound. BGG lists it as longish so that could be an issue for some people.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
