"Swing Shift" at Port of Richmond

Hello all. This is Just Carla. I saw a flyer for films being shown on the SS Road Oak Victory. It is located in shipyard #3, berth 6A in Port of Richmond. Has anyone ever been there? On May 15, the 1984 movie "Swing Shift" will be showing. $5 donation to board the ship. Here is their calendar link & a promo of the movie

Hi Christina. I have plans this Saturday (Treasure Island flea market, y'all should try it) but I can look into scheduling a pancake breakfast.
Hey, why don't you setup the Rosie the Riveter visit? :-)

Carla, Does this mean you are going to organize a meet-up for the Rosie the Riveter re-opening and one for an upcoming pancake breakfast? I would also be interested in attending both.

Yes, it would have been nice to chat afterwards. I hung around the ship cuz it was such a lovely view and night. I was the last 1 to leave, the volunteers had to shoo me! Haha Maybe we should try the pancake breakfast sometime? Anyone going to the Rosie the Riveter re-opening on the 24th?

Great concept and venue, definitely worth repeating for the upcoming movies there. As with several other recent meetups, though, there should have been some announcement about where we might get together afterwards to chat and get better acquainted.

Thanks for organizing this event...another one of those best kept secrets in Richmond. This city continues to surprise me. Nice meeting you all.

So I went, never having been to the ship before and I thought it was best not to try to finish going up the ramp due to my leg injuries. Too bad, looks like a fun time.

Ack, stuck at work late and now stuck in traffic. I'll try and make the next movie. Have fun tonight. Must be cool to be in large cargo hull on a warm May night!

Had to cancel for tonight-- home emergency; meeting electrician after work to solve problem that developed just as I was leaving for work today. FYI -- sorry to miss this. I was just there (at the Red Oak Ship) last Sunday for their pancake breakfast and tour, which I recommend. It's on the calendar link Just Carla posted above. Have fun!

I drove out there to make sure I was going to the right place! Basically drive all the way down Canal, it will curve to the right, then become a winding road. Just follow the signs and you will eventually end up at the berth. It is about 2.5 miles from Cutting Blvd. See y'all there!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
