I used to rent in Pt. Richmond and think Masquers Playhouse is a lot of fun along with several restaurants nearby. Hotel Mac used to have a great 'martini' night (don't know if they still do) and 'Little Louie's' is a great place to grab lunch to take on a hike through the tunnel to Knox Miller then on to Brickyard Cove. Also, the 'Up and Under' Pub that used to be a really seedy alkie bar is now really quite nice. The Richmond History Museum on Nevin is worthy if you like finding out more about how Richmond has evolved over time. MacDonald was so different during WWII. The Pt Richmond History Museum is fascinating too -- lots of really old photographs. I was told by the curator about 'Tewksbury', who sold his land to Standard Oil and paid to have the material dredged from the Carquinez Strait deposited around Point Richmond to connect it to the mainland. Pt. Richmond was an island and the last whaling port in northern California.

I live in South Central Richmond and am delighted to see a meetup in my own city! Many thanks to 'Samantha' for organizing it-
Great idea. I belong to several meetups outside of Richmond and it's nice to have one that is specifically focused on where one lives.
