Yoga Nidra Meditation

We will be doing a form of meditation known as Yoga Nidra (meaning yogic sleep).  It is a guided meditation by Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati of the Himalayan Tradition.  You can read about him on his website:  http://www.swamij.com/swamijnaneshvara.htm

This recording has 5 tracks and is approximately an hour long. The first one introduces you to Yoga Nidra - and the following tracks guide you through actual practice. The guided meditations on this recording are entirely verbal - there is no music in the background.

The introduction is followed with a meditation which guides you into a state of deep relaxation.  The next track guides you through 61 points relaxation - guiding your awareness to 61 different points on your body. Then follows the practice of ascending breath - inhalations and exhalations begin and end at different parts of your body - ultimately leading to leading the breath up your spine. The last meditation guides your awareness to your "third eye" - awakening and opening it, going down to your throat chakra and then resting in your heart chakra. You are then guided into the state of emptiness.

The purpose of recording is not only to help you remain conscious while dreaming, but also to help purify your mind and emotions (your energy field) from emotional attachments - attaining a state of deep peace, purity and clarity.

I will provide salsa/chips and a variety of herbal teas.  Feel free to bring any beverage of your choice for your personal consumption for the conversation/social that will follow.  As you do this meditation laying down, we will have limited space.  So please RSVP only if you are certain you can make it.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Light and love,

ed

Those on the waiting list, there is a good chance we will be able to squeeze you in. My family room only has so much room and this meditation is one done in savana pose (on your back). But often times, only about half the people that RSVP actually show. So there very may be room for you!

Plans have changed. More than likely I'll be in Philly this Friday. Sounds like a wonderful night, so I cancel w/ regret.

Could 2 or 3 people bring yoga mats just in case we need to put you on the kitchen floor? I opened up the RSVP limit to accomodate everyone, but we all might not fit in the family room!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
