Richmond Knitters & Crocheters Pages

Welcome to Richmond Knitters & Crocheters!

This is a meetup group is designed for anyone interested in meeting fellow knitting and crocheting enthusiasts. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced fiber artist, we join together to share fun and laughs as we create beautiful projects in the company of friends.

Here are a few things you should know about how our group works:

Dues:
Dues are a requirement for all members to attend meetup events. These dues go towards meetup fees, reimbursement for carpool drivers to fiber faires, yarn and supply giveaways from time to time, and other celebrations within the group. For your convenience, we offer the ability $24.00 annual to attend any event on our calendar through the WePay system in Meetup. Annual dues renew on the date originally paid, the following year, not per calendar year. Meetup.com will send you a reminder before your dues are charged and you can cancel your dues at anytime.

New Member Due Waiver:
For new members, you are given a 14 day free trial to try out any of our weekly meetups. After the expiration of your free trial, annual dues are required in order to attend meetups.

Refund Policy:
Dues paid to the group are non-refundable transactions.

RSVP Etiquette:
We realize that life happens. You RSVP for an event and something comes up so you can't go. It's understandable. We ask that you please update your RSVP as soon as you know that you're unable to attend an event so that members are not anticipating your arrival or saving a large area for the group.

Because we meet in restaurants and coffee shops, taking larger than needed areas for the group takes away from business of the company hosting us. Please be polite and update your RSVP so we can reserve areas appropriately and avoid losing our ability to host at certain venues.

Also if you are on the fence and are counting yourself as a "maybe", please hold off giving your "Yes" RSVP until a day before the event when you're sure that you will be able to come. This helps from giving hosts a false member count when you forget to switch back to "No" or decide not to come after all.

Exchange/Purchase Etiquette:
Members are free to exchange or sell their services, goods, or materials to other group members. Please be aware that any transactions are handled between the parties within the transaction and the organizers, event hosts, or meetup group are not responsible for setting price or resolving disputes over transactions.

Skill/Teaching Policy:
This group is not designed to teach members how to knit, crochet or other various skills. It is understood that members have base skills upon joining the group. This does not mean that members will not assist with difficult patterns or stitches or questions at meetups. Members retain the rights to share as much or as little knowledge as they see fit in regards to teaching a new advanced skill to a fellow member.

Trade skill meetups may appear in our calendar in the future. It is agreed by all members that any trademarked skills or copyright patterns taught in these sessions are prohibited to be sold to the public and are for private use only.

No-Show Policy:
We reserve the right to mark a member as a "no-show" when they have RSVP'd "Yes" to an event and have made no attempts to contact the organizer either by email or comment on the event, and do not show up for an event at all. Repeated no-show violations will result in removal from the group.

No-Participation Policy:
We try to work our schedule so that all of our members can make an event of their choosing. If within a four month period a member has not visited the site or come to a meetup, this can result in removal from the group. Because this type of removal is not a ban or no-show removal, members are free to rejoin at any time.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this guidelines, please contact the organizer.
