Fall Fiber Festival & sheepdog trials

So just a final update about carpools and meetup times:

Most of the people that are going from the Thursday night group are planning on venturing other places after the festival so they won't be offering carpools out to Montpelier. Feel free to see if anyone else in the group is offering rides through the comments in this event.

The time on the event is when we will be meeting up at the actual festival. We'll be meeting up at the Carpe Donut cart which looks like this:

It's generally good practice at a fiber fest to get in early so you have first shot at the yarn selection available. The festival gates open at 10 am on Saturday, so the plan is to get their early, shop for an hour, and then meet up at 11 to oooh and ahhh over initial purchases. You're welcome to show up late, or stay late, but much like the Powhatan Fiber Festival this is an open event where people sort of show up and hang out or just browse on their own.

I hope that clears up some things. I hope to see you all on Saturday!

Yes, the heat was intense, but the yarn was worth the trip!

I'm here, but it's too hot to wait in the sun with no shade, so I'm wandering.

I'm going to try and wrestle up some discussion on carpooling tonight at the meetup and I'll get back to you.

Thank you. I am willing to drive one or two people if anyone wants to just enjoy the view.

I will be driving and would be happy to take someone. I drive a Prius, so I don't need any help with gas money. I live in the Short Pump area and can meet somewhere around the Whole Foods parking lot.

Are people also going to go on Sunday?

    October 2, 2013

    • Michelle

I know that I will not be. I have another meetup to host on Sunday and I just perused the exhibits and nothing looked particularly noteworthy to me.

Sadly, I was unable to sign up on time for workshops, so I plan to go on Saturday. My mate had considered going, but he is still 'thinking it over'. If he doesn't go, I plan to leave really early and 'gypsy' around a bit on the road trip there (i've never been to that area before). So I won't be carpooling, but I'd like to meet up with others once there, maybe for some collective 'ooooohhhhhing and aaaahhhhing'. :)

Is there anyway of a few of us grouping together to go to the festival. Since I'm new I won't recognize or know anybody there. Or maybe even a meeting time there to meet some of the knitters.

I saw you're coming to Panera tonight. I'm going to bring up some discussion about this and clear it up a little better so we all know where to meet and if carpools are available etc.

I do believe that this show is Saturday and Sunday. It is a lot of fun and I will be there as a vendor. So come and visit me!

I think I might enjoy attending this meet-up after all, since I won't be doing any shearing of sheep myself! ;)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
