Scout Camp Trail Work

Trail work is still on for tomorrow out at Scout Camp.  We're starting at 9:00 a.m. and we wil be working on one of the proposed reroutes.

However, instead of meeting at the pavillion where we normally meet, we will meet over on the Boy Scout side.

So, instead of turning right towards the Cub Adventure Camp, turn left towards the Boy Scouts side and follow the main road to the administration building that is near the lake.

A few weeks ago, we cleaned up a lot of storm debris and cleared the trails.  Nathan Burrell with the James River Park System had also done a full trail assessment back in December in order to identify areas that need improvement (it's a fairly comprehensive list).

Now, it is time to start working on these trail projects.  Therefore, we will start working on the first reroute section of trail located behind the administration building.  Cycles Ed Jones and Clark Jones (no relation) have already flagged the trail corridor and this work will involve clearing that corridor.

We will also be working on one of the bridges (one of many) that needs to be repaired.

Again, as part of the agreement between Richmond MORE and the Scout Camp,
it is required that we perform a certain number of work days dedicated to maintaining and improving the trails.  This exchange of work gives us the privilege of having rides out there on a frequent basis throughout the year.

We need your help in order to keep these trails open on a regular basis. So please set some time aside on Saturday, March 9th to come out and lend a hand, even if it’s just for an hour or so.

We'll meet at the pavillion at 9 a.m. to go over the scope of work for the day.

If you can't be there at 9:00, but plan on showing up later, call my cell phone when you get there and I can give you directions to where we are.  [masked]

Thank you in advance for your support!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
