Don't forget that we have permission to ride in the evenings now at Pocohontas State Park. These rides will take place on the first and third Tues of the month beginning at 6pm. Please park in the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum parking lot which is a little around the bend on the right after passing the front parking lot and campground entrance....there is a new fountain and a large bell from the CCC days. All other rides will start at 5610 Riverside Dr at 530pm. From now on it looks like our rides will require a good riding light either mounted on your handlebars or helmet. I would recommend a light with at least 800 to 1000 lumens since the woods get dark quickly at night! These lights can be purchased at most bike shops and WMR team members receive a discount if purchased at The Richmond Bicycle Studio or Coqui Cyclery!!! I have one extra light so whoever claims it first can use it for the ride!!!
Rides will start from 5610 Riverside Drive at Lorene's home then will proceed onto the trails from there!
This event repeats every Tuesday now for the summer from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm!!!
We will work on skills and getting used to our bikes and the downtown trails including Forest Hills Park, Powhite Park and the new trails south of Richmond. Trail routes will vary from week to week.
Helmets are required. Let's get in the woods and have some fun! Please RSVP if you are coming so we know to wait for you at the starting point! Boys are welcome too!!!
This ride will repeat every Tuesday. Please visit the WMR Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/518466658177995/
