Legs of steel - Lungs of Titanium - Summer Century ride! Bath & Bristol ADVANCED

Let's make the most of the long warm summer days and celebrate with our very own Richmond Park Cycle Club Century Ride!

We will be leaving promptly at 9am to cycle through beautiful countryside and quite rural roads all the way to the Roman gem that is Bath. The ride is 110 miles.

No Surrey hills for a change, we are heading west!

There is also a plan B. For the super hard core, a small group of cycling machines will head on to Bristol (130 miles) and take the train back from there.

This is great training for Dunwych Dynamo. A GPS device is strongly recommended, as you may need to be autonomous, in case you lose the group or are tired and need to bail out.

Come along to discover the West side of the country and the stunning Roman ruines of Bath

What a day :) The last 30 miles very hilly, and to finish off with that hill....no, not hill...mountain, the never ending mountain, but the final descent into Bath was cool :)

    Hi guys.
Hope you got to bath ok, sorry for holding you up again.
My chain snapped off as I rolled back into london so I guess with the puncture and the snapped gear cable, thats what we call a hat-trick. I must be cursed!
Will see you all as soon as my director sportif has hired new mechanics for my support team, ha!
    Cheers

Hey guys, I'm not going to do the whole 100 tomorrow. It is just too hot and I now can't be away all day. If there is some way I can do part of it and jump on a train midway to bath will do! or will just do a local ride. Sorry to bail, I just know my body in this heat...

It's a BIG one, hopefully for this we'll have some nice, sunny weather! The ultimate would be to cycle back from Bristol, only haddcore Joe Pilot would perhaps do that :)

      June 17, 2013

    • Joe

      I'll do it for £1 a mile ;)

      2 · June 20, 2013

  • john g.

Where is the meet place please? Assume the speed will be reasonable as its quite a long ride?

    June 9, 2013

    • Joe

Usually faster if one can cycle longer!
