Tobias' Five Hills Challenge - Advanced Level

The idea behind this meet-up is to tailor each route so that all groups can meet at the top of Box Hill for a cuppa/coffee/group photo, before returning back to the park or the H&H for well deserved grub & beer.

Advanced+, lead by Martin, will tackle 7 hills;

Advanced, lead by Tobias, will tackle 5 hills;

Intermediate+, lead by Claudia, will tackle 5 hills;

Intermediate, lead by Patricia, will tackle 3 hills; and

Intermediate/Easy+, lead by Michael, will tackle Box Hill.

Details of which hills and a gpx file for each route will be provided in the 'Files' section, at least 48 hours before the ride.

If you do not already have a ranking, please contact one of the organisers to discuss how to obtain a ranking before signing up.

We recommend that you wear helmets and bring spare inner tubes, levers, pump, money etc.

This is a tough ride, so riders are advised to bring water bottles, food, gels etc. However, there will be an opportunity to buy food and drink at Peaslake.

    Thanks Tobias, Pat and Panos. Great ride. Fast and funny. My fav moment is when that guy shouted at us for taking "liberties" by placing our bikes near his house . Good times! Thanks boys.

    Thanks all. Good ride and the sun even smiled on us (for a second ...)

    @ Box Hill with the other guys. We're waiting a bit for the others but we'll be off soon to Giro for the Flanders race :-)

    Have said yes, hoping I'll be able to get my bike back together this eve. Expect I'll need mudguards so can't bring the good one!

      I'd suggest at least an ass saver for tomorrow! (Sigma sell them, no doubt we'll be popping in ;-) )

      Well my bike ended up with no fork on it as the guy didn't deliver it, so upsides of mudguards were somewhat negated by not having a rideable bike!

    Haven't heard anything else, and the rain is going to lessen later in the morning according to the forecast. Get your rain gear on, I say :-)

    I'll be there too, so 9am right? the earlier time and shorter route Claudia mentioned suits me better since i need to get back as early as i can

    I'm still planning on being there. Maybe if the weather stays too wet we can cut it short and retire to the pub early...
