HOW IT WORKS: We get together and practice free and informal Spanish conversation, usually in small groups. Anybody can rotate places freely. If you feel you are not ready to keep up a conversation in Spanish, you can also come and just listen until you feel comfortable to participate in a talk. Please try to use as much Spanish as possible and minimize English in order to get the most out of it! We are also initiating one free review session a month of popular grammar topics. Instruction is in the source language (English) for thorough comprehension of the grammatical concepts of the target language (Spanish).
WHEN: Meetings usually last for about 2 hours (or more), and you can come and leave at anytime.
Meetings are generally as follows (please check the calendar for specific dates):
1st Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM at Little Mexico Rest., Cary St.
3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM at various locations (more often at Kenn-Tico Cuban Rest)
4th Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM at Lalo's Cocina, W. Broad St.
Fridays at 10:30 AM at the coffee shop at the Art Museum VMFA.
1 day a month for review of Spanish grammar; TBA
WHERE: We meet in different locations, including Little Mexico, Kenn-Tico, Emilio's, Lalo's Cocina, the VMFA, and the Tuckahoe Public Library. We might also meet at any park during summertime.
ABOUT OUR MESSAGE BOARD: Please do not post messages unrelated to the group or the Spanish language/culture.
