interesting factette—the Via Veneto (more properly the Via Vittorio Veneto) is a famous (and expensive) shopping street in Rome featured in Fellini’s 1960 film La Dolce Vita . the street is named after the last battle on the nightmarish Italian front in the First World War, resulting in the rout and demise of the Austro-Hungarian army, which outlasted the Austro-Hungarian state by a few weeks. It was pretty much the only Italian victory in the war.
