The Ride

Join the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation for another year of cycling fun at the 2011 Cap2Cap ride! The Cap2Cap is the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year.  It is a cycling event with two starting locations (Richmond and Williamsburg), and three different distances (100, 50 or 25 miles) to choose from.  It is also one of the fastest growing bike events in the region with nearly 2,000 riders.

The Cap2Cap is NOT a race. It's just a nice fundraiser bike ride. There are rest stops along the way, and riders are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful scenery.  Of course, be safe and observe the rules of the road while doing so.

The Smithfield Foods Century starts at 7:30 am.  The Sycome Half-Century starts at 8:30.  The Bikebeat 25-miler starts at 9:00.

You are wonderful as always, Morgan. I will put the word out to have those there later to please help with clean-up and we'll do what we can to help out when we return from the 50 miler.

MIND??? Deb, You need to even ask? ALL Meetup people is welcomed. Matter of fact, it was rather crowded last year, so I've got another tent. I'm going to see if C2C people will let me set both of them up to accomidate everybody. Either way, tell your group/friends that the R&RR tent and the two way bike pump will be there to use. They also can leave their stuff at the tent too. I won't be there but Doris will. Also, ask anybody in your group if they can hang around till 4pm to help cleanup. TY

Anthony, Thanks for asking. I wish i could be there to meet you but I not able to. I will have the Ride and Run Richmond Tent set up at the expo area. You are welcomed to hangout there as much as you want. Doris should be there hanging out all day too.

Do I check in anywhere with the meetup group at the race? This is the first event I am joining and would like to meet some of the people in the group.

Greg, It's up to you. You don't have to, but it wouldn't hurt either. I've done the 50 miles before and it's a nice ride. Have fun.
Oh, and by the way, we are planning to do another casual nieghborhood bike ride soon. It was nice riding with you last time.
