Welcome to Riders For the Cure, the employee motorcycle riders group of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. We are a group of employees, retirees, and cancer survivors who ride together in support of finding a cure for cancer and maintaining our mission of Making Cancer History. We invite all supporters of this noble cause to join us. We have several fundraisers throughout the year and also ride to select events. Sam's Jam is our annual event. The ride is named in memory of Samuel Hassenbusch, M.D., Ph.D., who was a professor in Neurosurgery and an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast. Proceeds from the ride will be directed toward research to lessen the side effects of cancer treatments in children. The inaugural event attracted over 130 bikers and raised nearly $15,000.
