I am pleased to announce that we have secured Ken Sklute to present to our Meetup Group as part of Canon's Explorers of Light series. There is no fee for attending this event. It's a great opportunity for all levels of photographers to enjoy.

The program will run from 10:00AM to 12 Noon.  Check in starts at 9:00AM.

Meeting is in the RASO Room, 4th floor, on Macy's side of the mall (by the Ice Rink).

Below is a description of the program Ken will present:

“COMPOSE Yourself and See the Light!”

As photographers, we all look at the world and see things uniquely. We often move too fast and miss what is right in front of us. Canon Explorer of Light, Ken Sklute will share his perspective, teach you to see and help you to be more in touch with your creative vision. We routinely pass magnificent locations without stopping because we are not really seeing what is there. Sklute will explain how he goes about finding locations, subjects and photographic environments that yield award winning results. Together, we will explore creative ways of composing. You will learn to see light that carves your subject with grace, depth and dimension. Sklute will motivate and ignite your passion, enabling you to take your craft to a new level of excellence. Sklute will share thoughts regarding traditional and contemporary interpretations of composition. We will discuss the rule of thirds, rules of fifths, dutch angles, negative space, and other elements that help take mediocre images and raise them to unique! Sklute will address unique capture techniques such as HDR, timelapse as well as using video capture in today’s HDSLR cameras to round out your storytelling abilities! All levels welcome.
