Intro to Knitting

The cold weather is here ... and if you've ever wondered how to knit, this is a golden opportunity. Elly Bockley, an area  IT Consultant, will be teaching the basics of this very handy craft in the Children's Activity Room of the Norwalk Library. This hobby has very low startup costs. A ball of thread and a couple of knitting needles will cost you all of $5 at Michaels. So there is no excuse for not giving this a try. No experience necessary!!!

Hi all, the Norwalk library is not available on the 9th, sorry it was my delay in booking. They have room for us either on Thursday Jan 16th or on the Wednesday. Jan 8th. My preference would be the 16th.

What a fun night. Four of us had never picked up K it thing needles and Elly, along with the help of Rebecca, both super experienced knitters were so patient and helpful. This was so much fun...looking forward to the next one in January!

Elly did a great job teaching the bropup. I've literally never picked up knitting needles and I actually started getting the hang of it!

My Daughter wants to learn knitting as a legacy to late grandmother.

Depends on what you want to make. If you've never knitted before I would suggest one skein and size 7 or 8 needles. But you should find a yarn with which you'd like to make a scarf and bring that and the appropriate size needles. You can check our Ravely.com for many free patterns.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
