ED - CNC Part 2 (and Business Plan)

BD is hosting our meeting this week, which will feature the second part of Ed's presentation on CNC. The first one was jam-packed with all sorts of good information for anyone wanting to get involved in this field. Don't miss this one!

We will also be discussing our group's business plan. If you haven't already, please weigh in with your thoughts at our site hact.us. It would be great if we could get this done, as this will enable us to set up a bank account and will enable us to offer classes to the general public. We will be discussing this while we chow down (don't forget to bring $7 for food).

Ed finished his CNC discussion with usual flair. He actually got into the guts of how stepper motors work (i.e., how power is supplied to copper windings and how that turns the shaft). Next week we will put all this theory to work as we work to put together BD's Fireball CNC machine.
We are all eternally gratteful for Bill Saturno, the GODFATHER of the hackerspace movement in CT - for attending. His wisdom and experience guided our Business Plan discussion. I think we may just have a document we can work with now. He even brought cookies!!! This man is a living legend!!!!!
Also, George's beer just getting better and better. His last batch was great. But his new Mexican Cerveza is even better!!! He has a real talent for this and I think Budweiser should be looking over their shoulder.

Looking forward to seeing Bill again!

Here is some information for those of you who have not yet visited Casa BD: the house is on the corner of Long Ridge and Midrocks; there is a driveway that I share with my neighbors, and the entrance to that is on Long Ridge just a bit down from the Madonia restaurant but on the other side of the street. The driveway itself has a group of mailboxes and two stone pillars at the entrance. Parking is limited on the driveway itself, but there is good access to the back if you park on Midrocks; I will put out a sign and turn on the back deck lights for those of you who choose that option so just walk up on the deck and knock on the sliding glass doors.

I'm planning to order 3 large pizzas from Planet Pizza: 1 cheese, 1 vegetable, and 1 meat.
