I have created a solar cellphone charger that I am working on selling as a kit. I've created two Android Apps. I can program with PHP/MySQL. I have designed my own PCB boards using Eagle. I love gardening and brewing beer as well as hard cider. I have taught beginner Arduino classes.
I've always wanted to learn how to weld. I also want to create a 15 foot-tall hydroponic growing rack, to supply spinach and other greens (to feed my juicing habit). I also want to learn more about Android programming, particularly as it relates to interfacing with other hardware.
I've been a computer programmer over the last 10 years. By day I'm Microsoft/Oracle guy but I work with open source software at night. I've taught Arduino On-Ramp classes in the past. My latest Arduino project was a home garden-watering system that I could activate anywhere on the earth (by clicking a button on a web site). I've also worked with the Eagle PCB design software.
I love learning new things, particularly when it comes to open source hardware and software. I am looking to build a community in the Norwalk/Stamford area that will provide unique learning opportunities that can be found no where else around here.
The group keeps attracting people from all walks of life. I've been so gratefiul for this opportunity to meet them all.
