Two Waikato peaks

Having been doing a bit of walking around Wgtn recently, I'd quite like to revisit a couple of the walks from when I lived in Hamilton.
Rough itinerary would be:
Friday afternoon - drive to and stay somewhere in Hamilton.
Sat morning - drive to Te Aroha (less than 2 hours from Taupo)
- walk up Mt Te Aroha (952m - highest point in the Kaimai range - views up to Firth of Thames, down to Mt Maunganui, etc)
When I did this, it took me 4 hours to go up via the Tui track, and 2 hours to come down the Domain track - the Tui track is still closed (for about another year) for the Tui Mine remediation work, so it'd have to be up and down the Domain track - maybe 5 hours total including time at the top.
- a quick spa at the Domain hot pools.
- drive back to Hamilton
Sun - walk up Mt Pirongia from Corcoran Rd (959m - highest point in the Waikato region - views of Raglan, Aotea, Kawhia harbours, more depending on the weather)
Both times I've done this walk, it's taken about 3 hours up and another 3 hours back down.
- drive back to Wgtn via Taumarunui, Whanganui.

    Hi guys,
Sorry but I think I may not be able to join this trip. I was in an accident last Friday and my left eye is almost swollen shut today. If I feel better by Thursday I might be able to come but I am still not really sure as of today. Sorry about this. Steven about the emails you sent, I did not receive any.

Hi Loy - sorry to hear about the accident! Thanks for letting us know. I used the 'Send email' link on each person's profile on Friday night - it seemed to work, but maybe it doesn't actually send anything unless you're the event host or something. Maybe I need to get one of the organizers to set me as host for this event. I'll try leaving a greeting for each of you instead (I'll include you in case you are able to make it after all).

Did the emails I sent last night get through to anyone?

    Hi there,

I'd be keen to do this.

Hi Bonnie - will put you down for the last space in my car, or the first available space in another vehicle if we get one.

Hi Loy - I had been thinking of just doing this myself, but a friend suggested I join here and suggest it. I can take two passengers + luggage in my car - looks like you have dibs on one of those spots :) I could fit a third passenger if I had to, but if more than four people end up going, they'll have to sort out another car or something - I'd be happier to drop back to three in my car in that case.

Hi Steven, thanks for the offer, I'm happy to take that spot in your car. =) I am looking forward to this trip!

Hi Debbie - sure thing. Yep, warm and dry would be good - Pirongia's pretty muddy even in a drought.

Great idea Steven!!! (Un)Fortunately I'll have visitors from overseas here that weekend so can't really leave them alone :) But count me in if either your plans or their travel plans change!

Hi, I would really like to do this and I'm hoping I could share a ride with somebody, would just chip in for the petrol cost.
