Probably the one last summer with my ex and her two American roommates. We went through Wairarapa on Thursday, Marlborough on Friday, Nelson on Saturday, then flew back the Wellington for the Beer Festival. 56 different wines and 15 beers. Nice.
I want to see the Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and East Cape, as well as the West Coast of the South. Oh, and everything in-between.
Seeing amazing scenery, doing awesome stuff, and checking it all out with choice people.
I've travelled internationally for six years, and I'm really enjoying seeing lots of my own country for a change. And there's still lots more to see and do. Wanna take a trip?
The group so far feels like it's gelling really well considering most of us still hardly know each other. Everyone is really keen to get out and see a few things, without being too unrealistic. The most popular ideas seem to be weekend trips away, with a few longer, more involved trips every now and then. Ideas for longer trips were: Canoeing the Whanganui River; Driving from Rotorua around East Cape to Hastings; Heading to the top of the South Island; the Deep South of the Catlins and Stewart island; Coromandel and Tauranga/Mount Maunganui; and the Far North, probably closer to winter. Looks like it'll be a full year!
