Hi everyone! Nau mai, haere mai, piki atu ra!
We're now up to 14 members
; we've got 5 confirmed for the first meetup
, with 5 more 'maybe's; and there is Heaps to start us off in discussion!
If you can't make it to the meetup, don't worry -- I'll be posting some notes afterwards. But of course it would be nice to see your smiley face!
I'm sure some of you have been off on trips over the Christmas & New Year's break (I've been to the Coromandel) and that gives us some good tips, tricks and stories to share.
What were the highlights of your trip? What will you do different if you go there again? Indeed, would you go there again at all?
Don't forget, you can use the forums to discuss things you've discovered and stories to share on the group's Message Boards:http://www.meetup.com/RoadTripsAoteaoa/messages/boards/
Oh, and hey -- I made up a little poll for us to kick things off with as well, it would be *awesome* if you could tick the boxes before the meetup so we can get an idea of what kinds of trips people are interested in getting organised! It's here:http://www.meetup.com/RoadTripsAoteaoa/polls/
Some of you might also have noticed that I've changed what members of the group are called. You are now all ordained as Road Warriors!
I also have the power to give you individual titles, as I have for Lincoln
already. So look out, you might earn yourself a special title, as well! Muahahahaha...
Speaking for myself, I'd really like to see this group eventually kind of run itself, with the meetups designed to facilitate people planning their own road trips, and using the group as a place where we can swap stories, tips, phone numbers, email addresses and ideas, which can then be used by members to plan and organise.
But that's just me, and on Wednesday I'd love to hear about what you would like to see for and from this group.
I really look forward to seeing you at Fidel's at 6:30pm on Wednesday -- and on the roads!
To the Road, Warriors!
