Cool video! :-) The old, sepia-toned look of your video makes me think of "steampunk" technology... and Gary's steam locomotive robot is a perfect fit! Awesome!

    Hi Guys
what is the edge sensor called, we need to order one...

Hi Chris, here's a link to the infrared line-follower sensor: http://www.pololu.com... I have two spares of this sensor, and you are welcome to borrow one or both. I'm now (as of last night) learning to integrate this into my Arduino robot for the parade... these are only $2.50 each, so if you buy these, then I recommend buying a few extra ... If you'd like an easier alternative, the Lego Mindstorms kits are much easier to get up and running very quickly.

It was a great meetup! Glad to see most of the regulars and new folks too. I hope I be able to meet & shake hands with everyone and get more time to visit & dialogue at the next meeting. Really enjoyed meeting Mr Livingston. Would like to see a bit more on the insides of RC bulldozer hack. :-) I wrote down the RC 'Dozer used a RoBoController http://www.trossenrobotics.com/... , but that doesnt look like the one I saw from a distance. Please flag the link for that. The more I look for robot controllers, the more variety I find !!! YEA !

Enjoyed the meeting. I have uploaded a pdf file with links to robotics and electronics resources to the "Files" section of the club site. Send me your own resource links and I will include them.

Hey guys I got approved for the robot kit and they sent it to me and I would like to show it off at the meeting but I do not want to take away from Gary's time so I can present later if need be.

Excellent news! Thanks, Christine! We will make time for you to show the kit... How much time would you like to show the kit... perhaps 10 or 15 minutes, including a Q&A session? Thanks!

I have a couple of 2.2 mega-Farad-volt/meter units. Will they do?

Are they PCB free & RoHS compliant ? Surface mount or thru hole ? Under 8000 lbs ? :-) Thx, we'll make'em fit.

Mark S. informed me that May the 4th is Stars Wars Day! "May the Fourth Be With You!" If anyone wants to do any Star Wars themed activities, or show off their Stars Wars gadgets & gizmos, please do so! :-)

Help! Can anyone post the link to the IR line follower assembly which Tim described at the last meeting, with 5 or 6 sensors all integrated into one assembly? I found the single sensor parts at: https://www.sparkfun.com/product..., but I haven't found the multi-sensor assembly all pre-built. Thanks!

After checking my notebook, I actually only loaded the phototransistors at 1 mA to make sure it didnt take alot of light to turn them on.
