MystiCon 2013 Sci-Fi Convention - Robotics Workshops & Demos

Start planning & suggesting robotics demos we should build & show off at the MystiCon science fiction convention!!!
The Volunteer Roster is Full - I.e., eight volunteers have committed to work the robotics demos, and will receive free entrance:(i.e., if you are not on the following list, then you would need to pay an entrance fee (approximately $35) in order to attend... sorry about that!): Gary, Jay, Shellie, Mitch, Chad, Christine, Micah, & Kevin.

Tentative Schedule:
-9:00 to 9:30 - Setup - Note: I will arrive by 8:50AM
- Projector, Test it with RCA Cable Input
- Projector, Test it with Laptop Input
- Test any robots which need to be tested
- Set out flyers & business cards
- Place robots on tables in staging locations
-Six Tables:
- 1 table - robot parade track
- 1 table – TikiBot
- 2 Tables - for staging robots from - on stage
- 2 Tables, keep clear, to do demos on - on stage
-9:30 to 11:30 – Robotic Demos:
Micah & Chris – Please take photos & video during the event
9:30 - RC Intro - Servos, Tx, Rx, Battery
9:40 - RC - Two RC Sumo Bots & an Autonomous Lego Sumo Bot
9:50 - RC - Fly Vapor Model Airplane
10:00 - Jay – TeraByte
10:10-10:20 - Break (or use to make up time)
10:20 - Chad – BoeBot & Air-Cannon
10:30 - Autonomous Line Follower Parade Bots - Gary
10:40 - Autonomous TikiBot – Gary
10:50 - Robot Arm, etc. - Mitch
11:00 - Roving Greeter Bot – Kevin driving, Gary on vocals
11:15 - Sumo Bots - Audience hands-on with battling sumos
11:30 to 11:45 - Pack Up
I recommend everyone bring a bottle of water, and any snacks you may want... I don't know what food options there will be at the convention.

Will anyone need to use a laptop with the projector? If so, please let me know.
Currently, I only plan to use the projector for showing video from the roving video robot, via an RCA video cable...

Courtney: I'd very much like to ask William & Matt to help during the Robot Parade Workshop, on June 8th... where we will help people build Lego NXT robots for the parade... if William & Matt would build a robot for that event, and show it & explain it to attendees, that would be very helpful! Thanks!
