Cannon to Yorba Linda

A nice hilly adventure today starting at Katella and the Santa Ana River and going over to Chapman and Cannon which is listed at 8.2% grade but only about 1/2 mile up. That is a nice warm up for Serrano which is milder grade but longer. Then into Yorba Linda and our final hill San Antonio Rd and a long downhill on Fairmont and return on the Bike Path. Serrano and San Antonio will be new for me so I'm looking forward to the beautiful views there in Anaheim Hills and upper Yorba Linda. You will love those areas. They are really nice. We will regroup on top of Cannon and take a picture by that 10% sign and then get ready for a nice quick downhill on the other side of Cannon. Then turn right on Serrano and go into the Anaheim Hills area just beautiful. And Yorba Linda is awesome as well. Short ride at 30 miles but we will still get a good workout on the hills. So come on over and enjoy the scenery. Let's rock the hills!! Robert

Starting later at 9:15 because of the short ride and to give Paul time to bring his trailer in for a look see. Not to mention you can sleep in an extra 45 minutes. Yeaa!

Food after at the Katella Grill only 2 blocks away on Main & Katella. Excellent Talapia there and other good food.  http://www.katellafamilygrill.com/

Nothing like a bit of a workout in the morning to make you feel alive. Another great, interesting challenging route. We've gotta repeat this before too too long!

Great ride today, 58 miles for me today, including the ride to and from the meet up spot. Some pretty tough hills today but my Garmin showed only about 2200' of gain, not 4500. It sure felt like 4500'! Had a pretty stiff headwind on SART for the 22 miles back to Costa Mesa, not what I needed after all the climbing.

Robert, another great ride with lots of hills. This one is not for the weak of heart but everyone made it through. Great job everyone. Although we lost you guys coming down Fairmont, Kenny and myself found our way back to sart. Sorry I could not wait for you guys as I have a dentist appointment. Wahoo!!!!!

My first time on this route and wow what a workout but with lots of beautiful views in Anaheim Hills and the Yorba Linda Hills with an awesome view going down Fairmont Bl over looking Anaheim Hills and North O.C.. Posting my Garmin Data showing over 4500' of elevation gain which is after the elevations corrections done by professional surveys. This amount of gain must be some kind of record for the relatively short ride of only 30 miles, at least for me. Check it out & click on the link. It does take some time to load up so be patient please. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/282405879
Hey a "big welcome" for our newest member Jeremy who did a great job slugging it out with those awesome hills and never gave up. Way to go Jeremy!!! Whoohoo!!
And it was "great" to see Gary again who just had surgery on his thyroid. Hang in there buddy, you will overcome that issue. Just keep riding and working out.
Congratulations to everybody on a job well done, and big thanks for riding with RCA.

Hey Guys. Don't worry about the possibility of rain. I don't know where you are looking but AccuWeather looks good. That said, you never really know, but I'll be there anyway. We can always just go eat.
See this report and it should be good with only 2 days to go.

This will be my first ride with you guys. Hopefully I can keep up. If not, maybe I can take a short cut. I need to work my way back up to longer bike rides so I have a shot at the San Diego bike ride.

Bryan, Don't worry about Mark, he only speaking for himself, haha, and he is about 3 times your age, you know one of those 'over the hill gangers' but normally he has a "can do" attitude. You are young and strong and the only way to find out how strong is to "just do it".
