For those of you that are not familiar there are free online classes. Though check to see if you need to buy a textbook many do not require the puchase of a textbook but not all. Many are beginning to startup soon.

There are a few websites:
https://www.khanacade...
http://www.udacity.co...
https://www.coursera....
https://www.edx.org/...

I will be taking the following online classes in addition to classes at chabot:

Coursera:
Fundamentals of Human Nutrition
Control of Mobile Robots
Energy 101
Computer Vision: From 3D Reconstruction to Visual Recognition

Edx:
14.73x: The Challenges of Global Poverty
3.091x: Introduction to Solid State Chemistry
6.002x: Circuits and Electronics
8.02x: Electricity and Magnetism

You are more than welcome to join me and yes I am probably taking too much.)))

Hi Jonathan, thanks for the post. Would you be interested in writing a blog post for the Robot Garden website on online education? The landscape and what you think the benefits are?

Also, I'd love it if you could keep an eye out during your classes for places that would especially benefit from having lab sessions facilitated by a hackerspace. I am thinking mobile robotics and chemistry in particular. I think the future of online classes probably involves hackerspaces providing the labs for individuals and groups of students.
