No surprises on this one. It's the "Edit" of Saturday's "Shoot FOR Edit" at the Lamberton Conservatory.
This description is being written after the shoot itself, and I have to say that it feels like this meeting is being organized by the event for me! What a great collection of amazing photographs we've already seen uploaded to the Photos section! For those who are new to RPEG, meetings following a SFE (Shoot For Edit) event start off with a methodical critique of most or all of the uploads, asking each owner to describe what he or she thinks is special about the shot. Sometimes it's about cameras, and sometimes editing. Because we're a learning group, it's assumed that each image is also a topic for group discussion as to what made it work, AND ways in which it might have been done better. Occasionally we'll try a quick modification in Lightroom on the spot - but only with the owners' permissions, of course.
If there's time afterward, Carl will show us a quick HDR edit, and I'll finish up with a video or two, along with a couple of LR or PS tutorials demonstrating a little something for everyone using shots from our Saturday shoot.
Ask yourself: Are you GROWING your skills? We can wait twenty years to become skillful with our cameras, but doesn't it make more sense to put in the effort to get those skills now?
