If you've never been to this place, you'll want to make this meetup for sure! Our 2012 visit to Artisans drew over forty members, and nearly two-hundred photographs were uploaded to the site from the event (see that album in our PHOTOS section). Note that this isn't a freebie: Everyone will be responsible for their own $6.00 gate fee (reduced for us from $12 per adult). Please don't be confused by our recent payments on our site via Paypal for the gallery event: Don't pay us the $6.00. Pay it directly to Artisans when you arrive (be sure you mention that you're with RPEG to enjoy the discounted rate).
Artisans is a target-rich environment for photographers of all experience levels, and it's a great place to settle in with one or two skills that you've been meaning to develop in your personal toolbag: HDR, off-camera flash, creating composites (like the one seen here), panoramas, and in this WILDLY colored venue--shooting for B&W, to name just a few.
We'll have some more thoughts on what to expect by email as the date approaches, but this came together for us pretty much in the last few days, so be sure to RSVP now, rather than at the last minute if you can.
PS. An early footnote on uploads to the site from this shoot: Let's please limit our uploads to no more than FIVE per member. From those five we'll select two or three to bring to the editing meeting the following Wednesday, so if you'd like to control which ones we discuss, then upload no more than three. If you can't make the editing meeting, then please upload your five after Wednesday evening. Upload to either album on the site (one for each meeting), as we'll draw from both, and both will be consolidated into one album later on.
