Our March Meeting is CANCELLED FOR SNOW

This meeting has been cancelled for snow, but watch for a re-schedule at our next monthly meeting on April 9.

John Cullatti is organized the SFE (Shoot For Edit) at the Black Button Distillery on the Saturday morning before this meeting.  See the separate announcement to RSVP if you can make it then.   Photos from the shoot can be uploaded to either album and we'll bring them together for our review at this meeting.    Attendance at the shoot on Saturday is NOT required for those wanting to attend this editing meeting.   If you haven't been to one of these, the interaction between members can be a wonderful learning experience for anyone, both for camera and for editing skills.

We'll start our evening as usual, with some selected clips from those nice California-type folks at  Lynda.com.  Then if there's time afterward, we'll demo some  techniques for turning a tiny poorly shot black and white snapshot taken in 1951 into an 8x10 color print.  It should be fun!

And as always, don't forget to invite a friend who might also enjoy becoming a member of RPEG!

Okay everybody, we're pulling the plug on this one for snow. Watch for an announcement from Carl on a fun alternate activity tonight, and try to stay warm!

Seems like a good bet that things will be postponed. No worries here either way. Don't know that we've tried a Google Hangout in the past. Might be something we'd like to have a go at one day just to see if it works for our group. Also might be a way to bring in those to the regular meetings via the web when they are far away or are otherwise unable to attend.

Hey Kurt and Carl, I would be willing to help with the test run. I am free all afternoon.

Thanks Kurt and Mike. We may or may not do an actual Google Hangout in lieu of tonight's meeting since that depends on the weather, but I'd like to do a test run of the concept at 3 p.m. to see if we (meaning "I") can pull it off and how we like it. I'm not sure if Steve can join us but let's plan on at least the three of us, and I'll initiate it and send you guys the link to join me.

Kurt brings up a good point about the weather forecast, but I'm betting that it won't be that bad. Let's wait until tomorrow, with a "go/no-go" announcement by email and here on the site by 4:00. If we do cancel, let's move the same agenda ahead a month and make it our regular April meeting on the 9th.

If tomorrow brings the weather as predicted, it might be a good opportunity to have a Google Hangout meeting. We have a day to set things up and notify people.

Weather looks to be very bad. I would love to come but not with the predicted snow fall.

I'm afraid I won't be able to make it this time...

Well, I will be there unless the weather is really really bad. If just a little bad, no problem :-)

Oh, I wish I could attend just to see find out how to convert the small black & white to a large color print. Maybe next time! Have fun
