February is "Anderson Alley Edits" Month

As expected, our focus this time will be reviewing member uploads of shots taken at Anderson Alley Artists the Saturday before.  Pick your best two or three images and upload them to the album in our photos section that you see there now and that Joyce and I have already begun to fill.  Uploads aren't required in order to be able to attend though, so be sure to not let that stop you if you weren't there on Saturday.

It's fun to showcase our photography for our friends in the group to see, but let's go for more than that this time:  This is first and foremost a learning group, so try to take and select your shots with some photography or editing skill that's either new to you, or that you've recently learned and would like to show others.   When we put them up on the screen this time, that'll be our emphasis.

When's the last time we had a Picasa demo?  Rich Engelbrecht has agreed to help out with a review of some techniques using Google's free editor, and I'll also have something new to share from Photoshop.  RSVP any time, and as always, why not bring a friend who might also enjoy being a member of RPEG?

Enjoyed the image reviews from the shoot on Saturday, great job by Rich on Picasa, would love another round of Steve's "sleight of hand" gradient toning. Always learning something new.

Always a great gathering. Sorry I couldn't make the shoot. Looked like a wonderful opportunity with some of the groups photos from the day. Really enjoyed be re-exposed to Picasa. Had used it years ago and grown away from it. Time to re-visit it as a quick tool to accomplish many basic things.

Great time with the photo review. Learned different techniques for using the gradient tool for changing tone - thanks Steve. Good review of Picasa - I didn't even know that it existed Rich.

Yes, certainly you can still come Elizabeth. Many of those who'll be there will also have not uploaded anything from the shoot on Saturday. I should have made that clearer in the announcement, in fact.

Yes; however I do not have edited images to share since I'm fairly new to photography and editing, would this be ok?

I'm new to photography and editing~ I'm merely in my first stage of learning with the drive to persevere and be successful at it! I have tons of questions about editing with Photoshop Elements 10, but the first thing I would like to do is listen before I start asking questions, would it be okay for the next meeting (be my first) that I just listen/ take notes??

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
