History Meets Photoshop

    Great job Carl! I see you found some grass detail for that nasty dirt spot on the very bottom right corner. One technique I found useful when I had bright white areas like that sidewalk is to just put the original above (or underneath) the colored version, and gently blend it back with the original until the white isn't so distracting. Isn't it amazing how brown worked on that cane-weaved section on the wheelchairs? The whole thing looks so... "WW1-era".

    I probably spent an hour on the conversion to B&W adjusting curves, etc., and using the spot healing brush to clean up all the scratches and dust spots. The coloring probably took a couple of hours and perhaps I should have spent more time on it because I'm not totally satisfied with the result. I became bored with it after a while and just wanted to finish! Maybe if it was one of my family instead of someone else it might have kept my interest longer.
