Studio Portrait Photography with two Models - Hands-on Training

This past Summer we did a model session in the park. It was wildly popular, so we are now hosting a studio version. The attendance is limited to 12 photographers and myself, to ensure that everyone gets sufficient time to shoot.

Be sure to bring a telephoto lens, something in the[masked]mm range. Feel free to call or write if you have any questions about equipment regarding this workshop.

There will be an educational component to this workshop. I will explain the basics of working with strobes and radio remotes to trigger them. We will also discuss and use a variety of different light modifiers...Umbrellas, Soft Boxes, Beauty Dish and Bare Bulb.

I have sufficient lights and backdrops to have two sets going at the same time, so there will be plenty of opportunities to experience different lighting . We can also do some work with both the models together to get the opportunity to experiment with different posing possibilities.

The models came with a variety of clothing and we experimented with several different lighting and backdoor arrangements.

This was a fun and informative class. I learned a bit more about camera settings and a lot about studio lighting. The models were also good sports and held smiles for the duration. Thank you!

I would enjoy this workshop as well and will look for a future opportunity. Lately my weekends are not my own. :-\

Thank you Juliann. Wednesday nights seem to be best for me but I understand that you have to schedule for the group. :)

Wednesdays seems to work well for a large group of people, so I generally favor that week night. I'll work on something on a Wednesday evening as soon as possible. Julie

With your strobes are you supplying the RF trigger or wired hotshoe? I use a Nikon SU-800 on my d600.

Thanks. I signed up. I'll bring an 85mm on FullFrame. Should I bring a[masked]/2.8 for more range - too big for studio ? bring our own tripods ?
