Free Course: An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python

From: Richard S.
Sent on: Wednesday, October 2, 2013 4:43 PM
Hi All,

I recognize that a good portion of our Meetup members are new to Python, and that perhaps our meeting topics might be a bit above their scope of knowledge. Coming across this Coursera offering is fortuitous, and may afford those folks to become familiar with Python.

Though, I should clarify that regardless of your familiarity with Python, our meetings are always open and we encourage folks to attend and ask questions!

Coursera is offering a 9-week *free* course on Python.

As stated on their webpage by instructors Joe Warren, Scott Rixner, John Greiner and Stephen Wong:
This course is designed to be a fun introduction to the basics of programming in Python. Our main focus will be on building simple interactive games such as Pong, Blackjack and Asteroids.

Workload: 7-10 hours/week
Taught In: English
Subtitles Available In: English
