linux on a Mac?

I remember that someone in the group (Drew) ran Linux on a Mac, and I'm thinking of doing the same. Has anyone run Ubuntu or another flavor on a Mac?

I have had nothing but problems on my Thinkpad, which is why I'm thinking of switching back to Mac hardware. Any better hardware suggestions?

Linus Torvalds enjoys Linux on Apple hardware. We had a student working in our department for a while who used Ubuntu on a MacBook Pro full-time.

It's really your preference for hardware features, and aesthetics.

Personally, I think it's a fine choice. The hardware support I hear is quite good and I've done it as a test a couple times.
