Haven't been to Descanso and want to try it? Come on out. There are some fun routes from 5.5 to 5.12a. This is a sport climbing area with both lead climbs; and a hike to the top to set top ropes. This is a great place to get a few climbs in during the morning before it gets too hot.
From the Book:
Directions: Take I-8 east to the Hwy 79 exit and head north (left for you direction-impaired folks). After .75 miles, turn left onto Wildwood Glen Lane. The unmarked trailhead is about 1 mile west; part at a suitable spot nearby. Scramble to feet up the embankment, then follow the steep, sometimes loose trail to the crags. Allow 20 minutes for the approach.
