Shelf Road

Per request (Lawrence and Kerri).

Thanks to David for putting this one on.

Lawrence will be helping with organization.

The plan is to climb at The Dark Side.  David: Note that I changed the carpool location, as Black Bear is on the way out of town to Shelf.

Park at the Bank day-parking, and head west on the narrow road that drops into the canyon.  Take the first trail off the road (right) and shortly after getting on the trail, which descends into the canyon, take a right on the offshoot that goes over to the base of the Dark Side cliffs.  There should be good signage.

I'll meet you guys between Noon and 1pm.  (Anyone who wants to do a quick mountain bike ride in the morning is welcome to join me and we can carpool down afterward.)

If it's not too hot and everyone wants to, we can go over to the 2150 wall or Cactus Cliff in the afternoon.  (The 2150 wall is right off the trail that heads to Cactus Cliff.)

Here's some helpful Mountain Project links to these areas:

Cely and Gianna, very fun climbing with you! Sorry you had to leave early. Jason, David, and Lawrence - really enjoyed the 2150 wall with you guys. Let's hit it again soon. Lawrence, call when you get back.

Amazing weather for 8 hours before being chased out by a thunderstorm. Hard routes--Sorry Cely and Gianna that it took us so long to set up some top ropes. Fun finish to the day on 2150 A.D.

I've been wanting to go to one of the three classic walls in the Bank - 2150, Surrealestate, or Back to the Future. If we need shade, the Dark Side would be perfect. Not 100% yet on this weekend. May need to stay in town and go for the Garden on Sunday. I'll know in the next day or two.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
