Women's climbing on Pinnacle Rock - North Cheyenne Canyon

We had such a great time this past Thursday we'll try it again next Thursday (7/25). This event is for WOMEN only ... we plan to meet at 5pm in North Cheyenne Canyon at the parking area about 1/2 mile AFTER you enter the canyon from the Discovery Center. There are a number of top rope opportunities and sport/mixed leading as well. Ratings are from 5.3 to 5.12 but we'll stick with moderate climbs in the 5.7 - 5.10 range. If you have a rope and gear including draws please bring them. Meet at the parking area - From Colorado Springs, exit Interstate 25 onto US Highway 24 west. Turn left or south on 21st street. Turn right or west on Cheyenne Blvd. Once you pass the mouth of the canyon (where the Discovery Center is) the road will turn into North Cheyenne Canyon Road - drive about 1/2 a mile to the obvious dirt parking area on the left. I will be there at 4.45pm so look for my Red Xterra with Montana Plates and find a spot near me. For those who arrive at 5, we'll head up a few minutes after.  If you will be arriving later, park, follow the road a few hundred feet further than where you parked and you will come across a small walking bridge on the left.  Cross the bridge and immediately head UP and left on the faint trail that leads to the base of the rock (don't take the lower trail).  Keep going for a few hundred feet (the base of the rock should be on your right) and you will run into us. Questions please email me at [masked] or call/text 406.212.2488. If you cancel do so before 4pm so we are not waiting for you. If it is stormy we will cancel and you will receive the cancellation before 4pm. Thanks!!!

Oh and bring a headlight so 10 of us don't have to walk out in the dark with 2 headlights that the smart people remembered :)

Forgot I have to work up in monument starting this Thursday and all next week. Won't be able to get through traffic at that time of day. Anyone up for a climbing session this weekend though I'd be in!

Bob Robertson actually put up quite of few of the routes in Cheyenne Canyon over the years, plus many at Shelf Road, Newlin Creek, and other areas. His knowledge of the local areas is vast.

Can't make it this week - family from out of town - but I am definitely interested if you plan more in the future!
