Eleven Mile Canyon is one of my favorite places. It is one of Colorado's best areas! SOLID GRANITE!

The canyon recently went through the Springer fire and I have not had a chance to go see how hard the canyon was hit. Now that I am no longer evacuated from the Waldo Canyon fire I want to get back to Eleven Mile and climb. -SICK OF FIRES!- The rock will still be awesome! I hope the rest still is too. Anyone want to join me?

 Elevenmile Dome ultra easy approach and lots of moderate climbs (5.4-5.9). It also has 5 routes in the grades of 5.10a-5.11d. 19 routes in all: 7 Trad or Mixed, 12 Sport. Many multipitch if you desire :)

Arch Rock A short approach will lead you to a slurry of fine moderate sport and trad climbs with some upper levels too (5.5-5.11). 

I live in Woodland Park, which is about 30 min. from the canyon (25 min from CS). That is why I set the meeting place at the Wendy's lot in Gold Hill Plaza, Woodland Park. It would be nice if I did not have to drive down to the Springs just to come back up through WP.

C/S folks should consider carpooling from the Safeway at 3275 W. Colorado Ave. at 8:00 am. This is a good place to leave vehicles for the day. But as always, please don’t leave any valuables in your car.

I'll gladly drive my truck so anyone who wants (up to 4 passangers) has a ride. I will need to leave around 3PM.

All vehicles will cost $5 to get into the canyon, which I bet all riders in that vehicle could easily split.

Super easy to find the parking lot at Wendy's- From C/S: Cimarron St. turns in to Hwy 24. Take Hwy. 24 past Manitou, Chipita Park/Green Mountain Falls, Cascade, and Crystola to Woodland Park. Continue on Hwy 24 till you get to the light where right goes onto Hwy. 64 towards Divide and left goes into the Gold Hill Plaza. TURN LEFT! You will see the Wendy's right there. its just short of 16 miles from the intersection of 31st St & Cimarron St to the left turn.

If you can't meet at the Wendy's lot, or you are on of the drivers, to get to Elevenmile Canyon (NOT STATE PARK!): Follow Hwy 24 to the town of Lake George. Turn left at Park County Rd 96 (Tackle Shop & Liquor Store plus signs pointing you towards the canyon and Camp Alexander). After one mile, the road forks and you want to go RIGHT towards the kiosk at the canyon enterance.

To Elevenmile Dome it is 2.7 miles down the road from the kiosk. You can't miss it on the right! Arch Rock is 4 miles from the Kiosk on the left, up a hill.

-70 meter ropes are very useful here.
