This is a double-whammy of rock & roll, plus reggae's forerunner rock steady. We will start at a venue too good to be true (can it really last much longer?), for optional drinkables and/or eatables, while we monopolize the best R&R jukebox in all of Los Angelus. Then, proceed across the street to a lounge for a groovalicious deejayed dose of vintage bluebeat/ska, the sounds of Jamaica back when the island nation was newly independent and the music sprang forth from the freedom's exuberance.
No cover charges. Bring $ or plastic for whatever you'll drink or munch. Prices are reasonable. Free parking in the lot of the mini-mall the venue is situated in, or on the street; it's probably free on a Sunday. Dress casual, or like the rocker you are.
