The MeetUp company has charged Organizer $1000 out of her own pocket for this group to exist. To defray this, there is a free 90-day trial membership, after which your membership fee is $21, good for a minimum of 1 year. FYI

What Barbara S. is saying about this Meetup Group
Where else can you meet people over 40 who know what it means to live the rocknroll lifestyle?

Adventures into bands & records, live performances, happenings, art/cultural events, pubs and road trips, all based on rock & roll. Pilgrimages to historical sites of fossilized relics of pop music’s largely rewritten past. Weekly brainstorming sessions at bars having good jukeboxes…where baffling philosophy and unintentional slapstick drip like melted black wax. Colorful/esoteric shopping. Eateries as an ambient experience. Occasional consultations with older, wisened rockers for insight regarding useless topics. Discovery potential into new friends & interests. This group is informal and easygoing, but beware that whatever goes on might catch fire and start a new Movement. If you are weary of and sickened by pop culture, you may want to check us out. Open to all ages. Note: this is not geared to heavy metal. If it's nice to feel appreciated for who you are, you're looking at such an opportunity. And you may be more intriguing than you realize. "Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." -- Anais Nin
