Enjoy a Japanese flower arranging (Ikebana) exhibition and demonstration combined with a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony (Chanoyu) demonstration on Saturday, October 26 & Sunday, October 27. Each session will be led by students of Professor Ikka Nakashima of Chicago and will take place in the Visitor Center at 10:30 am & 1:30 pm both days.
Nakashima Sensei received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays by his Majesty the Emperor of Japan in recognition for her decades of service acting as a Cultural Ambassador of Japan. Nakashima Sensei also received the highest credentials in the Kenobo School of Ikebana and is recognized by the Urasanke School in Kyoto, Japan with its most prestigious honor: Honorable Professor of Urasenke Tea.
